Record Webcam Video

Step 1 » Open VLC media player and make sure your Camera is turn on.

 

Step 2 » Click “Media” menu and choose Open Capture Device... option (or simply clicks “Ctrl+C”)

 

Step 3 » In Capture mode, selects the DirectShow from the drop-down list.

 

Step 4 » In Video device name, selects your Camera name from drop-down menu.

 

Step 5 » Similarly you can select the Microphone from the Audio device name option in drop-down menu.

Step 6 » Click Play button at the bottom. Now VLC will start playing live from camera.

 

Step 7 » Then choose View menu and click Advanced controls.

 

Step 8 » Now you will see four advanced buttons above the normal play/pause button.

 

Step 9 » Then clicks the first button from the left called the record button.

 

Step 10 » Again presses the record button when you want to stop the recording.

 

Step 11 » The recorded webcam video will be automatically saved in your Libraries - Videos folder in Windows 7.
